This year, the HPS committee has been busy promoting health and wellbeing across the school. Our goal is to encourage everyone, students and staff alike, to make healthy lifestyle choices and support both physical and mental wellbeing.

One of our key initiatives was Walk on Wednesday, where we encouraged everyone to walk to school. It was a great success.
We also led Active Week, which was packed with fun and meaningful activities: Mindful Monday focused on relaxation and calm, Thankful Tuesday encouraged everyone to practice gratitude, and Well Wednesday brought yoga sessions and buddy time between older and younger classes. Thinking Thursday highlighted the importance of staying hydrated, and we wrapped up the week with Feel Good Friday, which included
a marathon relay and a feel-good film.

During Sports Week, the HPS committee also organised a whole-school Fun Day that everyone enjoyed. We’ve loved being part of the committee and helping to make our school a healthier, happier place!
In October, we were so excited to welcome Olympian Ellen Walshe to our school! She began by presenting the badges to this year’s HPS team. She was met by a rousing Olé! Olé! Olé! from Junior Infants, followed by a lively training session with Senior Infants to 2nd Class. Ellen gave 3rd to 6th classes a fascinating presentation and answered lots of questions. Thank you Ellen!
