St. Patrick's was one of the schools chosen to receive the STEM Learning Grant from the Department of Education. The STEM Learning Grant has facilitated us acquiring BeeBots and Lego Spike kits, to enhance our current, and begin new STEM learning opportunities.
Have a look at some activities the children experienced using the new resources during Science Week 2024.
1st classes had great fun trying out our new BeeBots during Science Week. We also completed coding modules on RodoCodo and Lightbots, using our new iPads. We are looking forward to developing our coding and problem solving skills playing with them throughout the year. Have a look at our coding videos, and some more BeeBot and Lego Spike photos below:
NextGenerationEU Funded Project
Our school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used for the provision of student laptops and USB WiFi adapters to some student to facilitate remote learning.
